SIG Sauer P226
9x19mm or .40 S&W or .357 SIG or .22 Long Rifle (Classic 22)
This Swiss designed pistol is a variant of 1975 P220 pistol but with a double-stack magazine so that it could compete in the US Army Serrvice Pistol Trials in 1984. It lost out to the Beretta M92 but because of its ruggedness it has been adopted by many police and military including SAS, US Navy SEALs, FBI, Canadian Special Forces and also the NZ Defence Forces (until 2016 when they started replacing them with Glock 17 Gen 4 pistols).
The model shown is the one developed for Navy SEALs in the 1980s.
