This is a black, 6 inch barrel version of the Model 28 "Highway Patrolman" used by many US law enforcement agencies. It is a budget version of the original Model 27 which is based on the 1935 "Registered Magnum". It was produced through 1954 - 1986 for US Police and civilians, and also sold to Norway.
