Makarov (MP)

Makarov (MP)
9x18mm Makarov

This replacement for the T-33 Tokarev became the Soviet standard military sidearm from 1951-1991. Although formally replaced in 2003 by the Yarygin PYa pistol it is still in use by many Russian armed services as well as those of China and North Korea.

The PM magazine only held 8 rounds while later variants hold 10 or 12 rounds. It is notable for being simplistic and reliable and can be easily field stripped and reassembled (including removing the firing pin) without any tools.
