FN Five seveN
5.7x28
Released 8 years after the P90 this polymer pistol also features ambidextrous controls and uses the FN 5.7 rounds. The steel core prototype SS90 and later SS190 rounds are capable of penetrating Type II Kevlar body armour and so the Five seveN was available only to military and police.
Finally in 2004 the first of the civilian models was released.
Because of the small size of the 5.7 round, the standard magazine for the Five seveN holds 20 rounds, and an extended magazine is available holding 30 rounds despite not protruding much below the normal magazine length.
