Walther P99
9x19mm or .40 S&W
This polymer pistol (glassfiber-reinforced polymer frame and steel slide) was released in 1998. Like Glock pistols, the metal is Tenifer treated for hardness and anticorrosion, and there are four internal safeties.
It features an ambidextrous magazine release lever instead of the more common button, adjustable sights, a loaded chamber indicator and a striker instead of a hammer that protrudes from the rear of the pistol when it is cocked.
