Soviet Rocket Propelled Grenade Launcher RPG-7
40mm
Introduced to the Soviet army in 1961, this anti-armour weapon is the most widely used in the world due to simplicity, cheap production cost and effectiveness.
It has been used in every major conflict since their first use in Vietnam in 1967. Typically grenades reach speeds of 980 fps (300 m/s) which is as fast as a .38 Special round and are considered effective up to 330m athough they can hit at twice that distance. The most common High Explosive (HE) or High Explosive Anti Tank (HEAT) grenades won't arm until they are clear of the launcher and many will self-detonate at 900m.
